E-Cigarettes: A Tobacco Harm Reduction Assessment

tobacco-harm-reduction-graphic

Do you want to know if your “quit smoking” advice is sound? Do you believe you’re truly sincere about reducing tobacco use for Americans? Don’t you want to know you’re doing all you can? I certainly do.

I’ve devised this quick and easy interactive tool below for anyone in public health or tobacco control to assess the choices (and more) seen above for tobacco harm reduction, and your views.

Click on the link below, then click on your – or your association’s most likely “answer” you’d give to someone inquiring about switching to e-cigarettes in a phone call or in person.

Don’t be afraid.

E-cigarettes: A Tobacco Harm Reduction Assessment Tool

How’d you do?

Are you employing vigorous tobacco harm reduction methods to clients? I don’t believe you. Are you using a Strategy or Tragedy?

I wonder what those around you are thinking. Those people calling and asking questions? They’re going to figure this out eventually. There are millions of us. We’re getting louder and more pissed off with every single lie told. I’m tired of America settling for less.

If you’re a smoker, use this. Don’t be afraid of their answers.

“When tobacco use decreases, less smoking occurs.”

E-cigarettes: Organized crime is exploding.

publicdomainnet

As national crime syndicates go, the FDA is one of the largest legal organized crime rings in the world. E-cigarettes and nicotine were deemed a “tobacco product” on August 8th, 2016 by the United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA).

I don’t have an answer as to how their decision reduces smoking. Not a clue as to how it involves tobacco harm reduction – which is their alleged intent.

I have an answer as to how it will increase smoking, funding for “tobacco” and continue a now criminally perpetual lie about nicotine.

I call that decision “National Tobacco Day“.

Criminal intent or public health

The FDA, while claiming to be the keeper of public health and all the good it does, goes deep within the realm of criminal intent, corruption and poor judgement, and has been on the side of drug companies for years.

Once Margaret Hamburg quit resigned retired left the FDA and was charged with RICO status, the nomination and confirmation of Robert Califf – having extremely lucrative financial ties to pharmaceuticals AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, GlaxoSmithKline and more, has furthered the criminal activity…hiding in plain sight.

The FDA won’t admit to answering to the pharmaceutical companies who make profits with nicotine reduction “therapy” products like the patch and gum. Those entities are in direct competition with e-cigarettes.

Corruption

Certainly the FDA will never admit to corruption leading up to and including the “regulations” as David Goerlitz, the Former Winston Man had predicted two years before it happened below.

davegoerlitz2

Organized Crime

Medical associations like the Heart, Lung & Cancer Associations of America along with the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids, all supported heavily by the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation, (Johnson & Johnson) along with the American Medical Association, and MANY other organizations and their “subsidiaries” – claim to want to “reduce smoking”.

Despite science, not ONE has supported e-cigarettes as a harm reduction tool. They simply cannot afford to support something that will take their revenue away.

Certainly, the FDA won’t admit to bending to pressure from “public health” and tobacco control, anti-smoking and anti-tobacco groups.

The tobacco companies AND those organizations above are going to will profit from revenue with this decision.

Those entities are funded directly and indirectly with tobacco sales, taxes and the Master Settlement Agreement.

“The people who are in the anti-smoking or anti-tobacco movement are so vindictive and hateful… they’ve made tobacco users feel like lepers, and that’s not the answer to the problem.”                                                                                                ~David Goerlitz

1.8%

From the Master Settlement Agreement and state tobacco taxes, this report shows the money spent from the fiscal year of 2016, “despite combined revenue of $25.8 billion from settlement payments and tobacco taxes for all states, states will spend only $468 million (1.8%) on comprehensive tobacco control programs.

“They said….’This is no longer going to be about health, this is going to be about money.’

That’s what I saw. That’s the corruption”                                          ~David Goerlitz

The Master Settlement Agreement

According to this report

“It is clear that the MSA has not resulted in a clear and straightforward intensification of state tobacco control efforts, because of the impact of interest group activity and changing economic situations at the state level. MSA resources have been significantly diverted from tobacco control and treatment into other state policy activities”.

tobaccobonds

Diverted. Unconstitutional. Misused. Stolen.

Regulation and taxation

of e-cigarettes are for CONTROL. For tax purposes, not public health. They claim it is about children and nicotine to continue their ponzi scheme.

They don’t want you to succeed by stopping your tobacco use.

They say vaping products are dangerous. There are no long term studies.

They don’t “know enough“.

They want you

to fail, and continue to fail their way…or tax you for succeeding your way.

E-cigarette Evidence. Guilty As Charged, The Scream Test.

evidence31

Like a crime scene, “experts” are trying to cover up scientific evidence about e-cigarettes. Cleverly disguised with their self-important pseudo-opinions, they publish their assessment long before it has been properly reviewed.

Like seasoned criminals, experts are studious at covering up or altering these scientific studies and research to their benefit, not yours. There will be no evidence reviewed unless they say it’s “ok”.

They weren’t invited, in any shape or form, to the scientific portion of the study, most likely because they aren’t qualified to perform it.

That makes them feel inadequate and they must redeem themselves. They feel left out.

Poor things. Bless their hearts.

evidence6

It’s quite like public health’s own scream test here, and here.

They also really do not like anecdotal evidence. They do not approve. I repeat: They do not approve.

Your anecdotal experience is NOT important to them.

They don’t believe in it, they dissociate themselves from it.

There are experts everywhere, just ask them. It’s popular to be one!

How WHO are you to decide for yourself that e-cigarettes are an alternative to smoking? What is WRONG with you? Are you thinking for yourself?

Experts say e-cigarettes are NOT approved methods to STOP SMOKING.

Did you TRY the not so effective approved methods? Did you give your best effort? Have you tried the patch? A quit-line? Counseling. Talking to someone may help. Keep those hands busy.

KEEP TRYING.

advice 3.jpgSource of photo here.

Nothing like tobacco control style guilt to persuade you is there?

I consider vapers the experts. Some idiots in the tobacco control industry have decided they are experts. Politicians??? They’re experts? T.V. Doctors!

Well – you would think they were, but they aren’t either.

In their quest for knowledge, you would only believe they would consume themselves by looking without delay, at science and evidence.

You would only think with the best interest of the PUBLIC at hand, experts would consult (and collaborate) with these people as quickly as they could.

I’d almost say, without hesitation, experts would seek the advice of people before them, that they would heed the experience of Medical Professionals who had the same doubts and thoughts.

You’d also think they would LISTEN to US.

Nahhhh….

evidence3

To have respect as a medical, health, or “tobacco control” professional, you should act like one.

You cannot deny the evidence. You cannot ignore the evidence. You cannot make it fit in YOUR box. You cannot pretend it doesn’t exist.

evidence5

You must either accept it as it is, or as an EXPERT, show why it isn’t working  – proof. I am waiting for the proverbial shoe to drop.

Most experts just want to stomp their feet like children, hoping they get their way, hoping every colleague will agree with their opinion. Get over yourselves.

evidence2

You’re at the bottom of the list.

While I’m at it – here’s a novel thought:

MAKE IT BETTER! Quit bitching and making things up. Instead of antagonizing, FIX IT. What? You don’t want to?

Nope. That’s not what they do. They see a report. Study. Science.

They rub their grubby hands together, and cluck like chickens.

They drop their carcinogen laced coffee as fast as it hits the floor, fling off their lab coats, and prefer to cherry pick. Please, no wagering.

cherrypickers.JPG

They have a hypothesis. Opinion. They find key points in one thing and write all about THAT. They then turn that into childish propaganda. They MUST tell the WORLD using any means necessary!

Obviously the goal of this is not to help the world, but to keep their self-serving importance up in their “field” – to boost their popularity -so they don’t become irrelevant !  All much more important than helping the public, or so it seems.

Maybe they are SO insecure, afraid of becoming irrelevant, they fling pooh, eat their bananas, and will do what they can to keep smoking around….. nahhh – can’t be.

MONKEYS2

Maybe they’re tired of seeing e-cig users doing their job?

That must be it.

evidence4

They already ignore the science.

They are having a much harder time ignoring US.

One recent example of listening, changing his mind, and being responsible in this matter is explained very well here, from Jim McManus.

When WE as users of this product reduced our tobacco use, regardless of the reason why, and are doing it by the MILLIONS, we must be on to something. You would think, if they REALLY want people off tobacco, they’d listen to the experts. Us.

It’s not like we’re walking around – pretending. Struggling. If it didn’t work, you bet your ass we’d be saying that as well. It doesn’t work for some.

By default, and by design, I’d bet ecigs would be a SOLID 85%+ success rate if “experts” would either SHUT up or admit they work and help those struggling to that end. They don’t want that.

We’ve stopped smoking by choice.

Most will more than likely choose not to listen, I hope you will.

anecdote1

Here are examples of UNEDITED “anecdotal” evidence from the latest survey.

Question #26: Did you notice any POSITIVE health or side effects once you were off tobacco using an e-cigarette?

Major health improvements. Chest, breathing, snoring, illness, blood pressure EVERYTHING has improved.
Saturday, Aug 15th 7:13AM

I used to have to use two inhailors for environmental asthma…I’m off one completely and rarely have need of the quick response inhailor…Which I used twice a day while smoking, I may have used a half dozen times in the last 4 years…
Thursday, Aug 13th 10:45AM

My breathing is considerably improved. I no longer have any asthma. Fewer incidents of apnea while sleeping. Heartrate remains a lot more steady when doing physical activity.
Tuesday, Aug 11th 4:37PM

Friday, Aug 7th 11:29AM

I have not had 1 bout of bronchitis since I have quit cig and started Vaping. 2 1/2 years. All my Drs seem to think its ok. Pulmonologist, heart and primary.
Monday, Aug 3rd 6:28PM

It hasn’t been long for me yet but I noticed the difference right away. The biggest thing for me though was learning I had a “smoking problem” not a “high blood pressure problem” as that went right straight to normal right away!
Sunday, Aug 2nd 8:00PM

Ankylosing spondylitis sufferer for 15+years. All pain has gone. I am back to gym and getting fitter by the day
Sunday, Aug 2nd 6:40PM

My chronic cough that I had for over 10 years went away and never came back within 3 days!!!

Blood Pressure is back to normal, no coughing, better breathing, greater energy, I now run 2 miles a day.
Saturday, Aug 1st 8:16PM

Increased lung function. I have COPD and this is now stabilized with better blood oxygenation than when I still smoked. This improvement has been documented in clinical notes and
has been maintained for over 4 years.
Saturday, Aug 1st 6:35PM

I had chronic bronchitis for over 16 years and it is gone now. I was afraid to laugh as it would send me into fits of hacking coughing. I laugh a lot now. I run with my grandchildren instead of being afraid to play for the coughing.
Saturday, Aug 1st 5:59PM

was able to discontinue two prescription drugs, cholesterol levels dropped by 50 points, used to need antibiotics for respiratory/sinus infections at least 4 times a year, since vaping I’ve been sick once.
Saturday, Aug 1st 5:18PM

I couldn’t walk up the four flights of stairs at home without breaking a sweat before i quit cigarettes and after two months after changing to a vape-mod i ran up the stairs without breaking a sweat. Now after two years I just ran half a marathon in just over two hours!
Saturday, Aug 1st 4:02PM

Breathing improved, high cholesterol went away, started exercising, lost over 70#, thirsty so I drink water constantly, lost weight lowered blood pressure, better performance sexually, enjoy healthy foods, use less salt, list is endless.
Saturday, Aug 1st 4:34PM

Here’s a hundred more similar to the above testimonials – from the first survey: Who’s hiding the truth?

More anecdotal evidence from the first survey: I can breathe again.

Despite the experts, vapers are claiming  Side Effects !

Are you wondering why there is so much

controversy over e-cigarettes?

Watch this:

Some controversy in itself, created some controversy of its own from this clip.

Simon Clark:  A Billion Comments

Dick Puddlecoat: A Billion Lives – My Take

Facts Do Matter: A Billion Lives Guest Post

My own comments:

I thought the comment the director made in question in a 7-8 second glimpse was actually a part of the bigger picture, pointing out the irony of lies. (*Just what you said, Paul, context). I thought it was taken out of a larger scene… no more no less. I didn’t give it a second thought until…. then somewhere I tweeted them to put pooh smells in the theaters when they’re lying scenes – and roses when they’re not… just as a joke.

The 3+ minute glimpse into this film is absolutely astounding. I agree with Mark below, there WILL be resistance on this film. There will also be opportunity. Pointing out the statement was far from my mind until someone pointed it out. In my eyes, the very thought of ripping this film up for one statement?

Maybe I should have a “shirt burning” once it comes in to gain attention? I think NOT.

I hope it was politely asked if it can be fixed/edited – or did we all just start yelling? I’ll use the word of my U.K. twitter & facebook friends… utter bullocks. I continue to stand with this film and this team. I will wear my shirt with pride. I am also one of #ABillionLives.

This project as a whole is something to look very forward to. I appreciate someone having the balls to do this. It will open some eyes.

Shannon, you said it best. We owe them everything.

Toxic Media. E-Cigarettes And Journalism.

nnnnn

Journalists. They spit out low quality fairy tales as fast as an e-cigarette study hits their untrained eye. Such articles give one an eye-opening glimpse into the many “amateur hour” hacks pretending to be “writers” there really are.

What a BUNCH of kumquats. I would be embarrassed to attach my name on  such a lack of “efforts” in “journalism” I’ve seen. I can only refer to the skill in which these articles were written as piss-poor. Most of these reek of the kind of stench you find in a port-a-john in a late summer fair full of experts.

With all the articles I see on e-cigarettes in a given week from the “press” and “reliable sources”, MOST are written as if they were made up by the half-assed skill of an 11 year old child. Still, after all this time e-cigarettes have been on the market, most journalists show very little fact checking skills and write about them with little to no knowledge of e-cigarettes.

The problem is, those who don’t know better…

may believe them.

These are irresponsible and unacceptable misinformation machines.

piss.jpg

Media today can barely put a comprehensive report out on e-cigarettes without sensationalism. They boldly publish and promote false statements and outright lies without apologies, without evidence, without integrity. There is evidently no pride lost in slinging their feces…

They squealed about “formaldehyde”, which was false, but very few put forth any effort to type about Public Health England?

news2

I am an amateur blogger. I’m not a professional writer, yet I put most of you to shame (both sides of this blog and previous posts for PLENTY of content) with proper information for a smoker contemplating e-cigarettes and what they need to know.

Sadly, I write better than most of you, and I’m not a writer by profession. Most of you proudly show lack of intelligence with each new “story”. See – that’s the thing, most of you are just telling stories. You’re specializing in e-cigarettes. E-cigarette fiction writers. Almost ass-hat like.

Am I being condescending? Yes, yes I am. Patronizing? Fine, if that’s how you feel. Some of you refer to e-cigarettes as smoking, so….we’re not on the same page. Work on that.

lies

Some reporters are obviously too stupid or unable to put two sentences together coherently, they string a reader along by almost always starting off by describing an e-cigarette. Most of it is “expert copy & paste skills” from what I see. Regurgitating the same thing over and over and over again…. each article seems to have a theme.

nnn

Requirements, evidently, for being a piss-poor journalist:

Mention gateways and children, but rarely mention “the children“.

Mention flavors, but rarely mention that “adults like flavors”.

Mention nicotine is addictive but never mention “nicotine“.

Mention approved methods, but don’t show “those methods aren’t as successful“.

Mention chemicals, but rarely mention “Chemicals“.

Mention health benefits, but never mention “health benefits

Mention we don’t know enough, but never mention that “Research is available here and here.”.

Mention laws, taxes & bans using the above descriptions but NEVER mention the truth on “Regulations, Restrictions, Taxes, Bans“.

Mention experts are on the fence about e-cigarettes, but have never talked to people on or  along “experts on this side of that fence“.

They almost NEVER mention reaching out to talk to ANY organization.

journalism

Research, in journalism  – or at least this type of journalism isn’t acceptable to the public.

They rarely retract a story, when they do it’s barely mentioned in unrelated news or withOUT fanfare like the original story was bled to death.

Almost incessantly they will either allow comments until they don’t like them, will not allow certain comments, will delete them all or not allow them to begin with.

They LOVE exploding batteries. Here’s Christopher Russell on that:

These wannabe’s take objectivity out, add in a five-gallon bucket of drivel, DON’T check facts, add in their own stupidity and use scary words like toxins – and makes a half-assed story go full ass.

One of the consequences of *#DailyPropaganda:

(*Thank you, Alan)

nn

dailypropaganda

According to Wikipedia-(a source evidently not concerned with standards in facts):

Journalism has developed a variety of ethics and standards. While objectivity and a lack of bias are of primary concern and importance, more liberal types of journalism, such as advocacy journalism and activism, intentionally adopt a non-objective viewpoint. This has become more prevalent with the advent of social media and blogs, as well as other platforms that are used to manipulate or sway social and political opinions and policies. These platforms often project extreme bias, as “sources” are not always held accountable or considered necessary in order to produce a written, televised or otherwise “published” end product.

Fergus Mason has his view of

Wikipedia, and why it matters.

 n

Please, keep in mind  -whether you are the largest major news corporation, or the smallest, I AM talking to YOU.

Do as you wish, “journalists”. Follow the pack, parasites. Keep going with  your “hard-hitting” fluff that your friends admire. You must be proud of that degree in typing.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

~Joseph Goebbels

There’s something controversial coming soon. It’s going to sting. This information you’re going to see in this trailer isn’t a secret. It may show that you are truly inept at research, that you are unwilling or unable to use your alleged education in journalism, or you’re just plain stupid. This could have been your story.

You, and all who have “Plausible Deniability” or who are “experts in tobacco control” might want to be attentive to this video from A Billion Lives.

It is a documentary about lies. Media, Government, Pharmaceuticals, Health and more. You know… all of you who should be paying attention instead of lying your full asses off…. or you may get dishonorable mention in this.

Wednesday, Sep 9th 12:29AM

Media used to relay the facts, today they only care about what sells. They have clearly taken a side before any interviews have started, some have affiliations with other companies or political views and stick to that no matter what truth is presented to them.

The honest truth should be shown on ALL media outlets, they should not be allowed to have a bias in any direction, the facts are what are important.

I tend to look for articles on ecigs and see many that talk about benefits and share them with others, but my sources are usually ecig positive, and I ignore the negative media reports from outside my sphere.

i find the media headlines negative aspects of vaping and e cigarettes way over the top. E cigarette and battery fires, exploding batteries etc are usually due to lack of knowledge and misuse.  Any battery powered device can a do explode, set on fire etc, but the media don’t report these instances the same way they do with e cigarettes.

The media is attracted to negative stories.

From memory, there are 10 million smokers in the UK and 2.6M vapers. Of the vapers about 1M don’t dual use. I’m sure there’s plenty that don’t do either now. There needs to be a Panorama-type program to tell the good news truth about vaping and the money and power behind FDA and EU bans.

Most of what is out there is propoganda and when there is the side of vaping shown (pro vaping) it is far too often denounced. There are reports that show vaping honesty but they are few and far between because the govt does not want vaping to be seen as a good thing

Junk science that is published them later pulled is stupid and irresponsable once it’s out there people believe it’s gotta be true when it isn’t

There a a few unbiased reports out there, but most are fear-mongering.
Monday, Jul 13th 1:27PM

In the UK, I’ve seen both positive and negative coverage. But in the US it’s much worse, probably because of those vested interests. I do object to pharma companies putting signs in GPs offices saying ‘Don’t vape, stop smoking for good’ as it’s likely to put people off vaping. Vaping can save lives so why tell people not to do it? Insane.
Monday, Jul 13th 11:54AM

Heard some ridiculous stories. Battery safety is down to users, same as of you use a mobile phone, I have yet to meet anyone who has had anything more than a slight reaction to the pg. They simply used a Lewis worth more vg.

Monday, Jul 13th 3:30AM

Much of the media coverage (print and broadcast) reminds me of reports from the 80s and 90s suggesting that violent video games, television and rock music were responsible for teenagers committing serious crimes. Responsibility is being thrust on industry, rather than on parents, which is borderline atrocious

Sunday, Jul 12th 5:12PM

Very seldom do I see fair balanced reporting on the subject and when I see articles they are usually biased and slanted against Vaping and are chock full of misinformation and propaganda. The only fair and balanced information I have seen have been from the vaping industry itself.

Sunday, Jul 12th 2:33PM

This is true of a lot of the reports on the news, but I have seen lots of good studies done by professionals based on REAL SCIENCE and accurate reporting standards. I would never say vaping is 100% safe, but some of the reports on the news are just irresponsible and dissuade people from switching from stinkies, when they aren’t even true.

Sunday, Jul 12th 2:15PM

The real issue is the indoctrination the media has both received and repeated for the last 50 years from anti-smoking lobbies. It is because of this that all consumer nicotine products are demonized, regardless of potential benefit.

Saturday, Jul 11th 6:43PM

There have been both sides of reports on vaping, depends on who is making the statement in the perticular article, I’m sure there will be debates for quite some time, I could care less, I smoked about 40 years , now I vape, I think it was a smart choice for me, I’m not concerned about health issues cause it can’t be worse than smoking, either way I’m apparently not going to live for ever , I’m pretty smart, smart enough to try vaping and get off cigarettes.

Saturday, Jul 11th 2:57AM

The impact of what is reported is much more detrimental to those who don’t know any better or TRUST the media.

That’s why I’m here.

If I had relied on media reports for information I would have been too concerned with the long term safety of e-cigarette use to try them and I would still be smoking today.

E-cigarettes have been around more than 10 years. Toxins & carcinogens are just some of the harsh warnings from politicians and governments worldwide to the public, yet the popularity continues to rise, despite the studies they have seen.

Usage is at an all time high regardless of the latest campaigns warning of possible effects and  public health experts continuing to demonize these devices claiming not enough is known.

Users are coming clean with their experiences.

Below are testimonies from users giving first hand accounts of their personal accounts.

No edits, answers are exactly as given in response to a worldwide survey in response to health issues associated with their individual e-cigarette usage.

These are anonymous answers, there are no conflicts of interest. No individual was compensated for their answers or time, all answers were voluntarily given. These are their voices.

less chronic cough during winter

not significantly, but better

I am asthmatic since baby, thanks to vapotage I no longer suffer to the problem.

Ha-ha, love the “yes” and “no” answers to that open question !

Los beneficios han sido evidentes desde el principio casi.

Additional benefits: far fewer colds and other passing infections since changing to vaping. NO coughing or chest infections at all.

I was hospitalized for double pneumonia and doctor said he saw no detrimental effect to vaping and that perhaps the moisture would in fact be good for breaking up my lungs. And some insurance companies are now considering vaping to not he considered as a smoker which lowers insurance premiums.

In the first week i could breath better, walk stairs without going out of breath. I have less colds and the one i have heals faster.

My bad smokers cough has all but gone, and I don’t get out of breath as quickly when exercising

I cut my 5K run time by 8 minutes.

Sense of taste & smell back to normal after 45 years. No cruddy lungs. Hardly ever suffer from colds now. House & car smells like a sweet shop.

Being a diabetic (type 2) since I started vaping my bs reading are somewhat higher. Now as I have only found 1 juice I like, if it is affecting my BS levels it’ll be a bit of a bugger.

I coughed myself to a bloody mess while smoking. Research showed; cancer, no. copd, yes. I was already coughing for a long time a lot.

I never cough now and I can breathe better. I am also not so depressed.

My fingers used to go white on cold days, but now I don’t suffer with that or the chilblains that I used to. I must assume my circulation is improving.

Since i’m vaping my Health is much better than before.

I simply feel better in myself generally

I think when you stuff up and get e-juice directly in your mouth this could be an issue that may cause irritation at least.

I feel betetr and can breathe easier now.

Because vaping is healthier than smoking

Because i feel loads better vaping and i am way happier

I do blood test every 6-12 months to monitor my liver due to my long term liver condition. The condition has been improving over last 18 months.

My weight has increased donce I quit smoking and started using an e-cigarette…which was an annoying but acceptable downside.

Stomach problems doctor said vaping causes it. Acid.

I’m able to smell much much better since i vape (that is sometimes a disadvantage, e g in the Underground Train …)

I can taste food better too 😀

Sanity, yes the present anti smoking tactics are driving people mad!

Taste and smell is sharper. Also no phlegm.

Better overall improvement in my health.

I haven’t noticed any benefits really. But i was starting to develop a cough upon waking just before i started vaping and the cough went away within a week of starting vaping.

Taste and smell are back to

No more BP meds or cholesterol meds required now. Only thing which is slow to recover and continues to be a bit of an issue is poor circulation.

Don’t cough all the time any more, don’t wheeze when I work hard, don’t feel like I’m dying after a night of drinking and my taste is as I remember it before I became a smoker.

I still have some breathing issues but I have gained quite a bit of weight. Not because of vamping but due to an injury that immobilised me for some time.

There is no longer the nasty smoke smell and smokers breath that comes with using cigarettes.

I do feel better in myself.

Fortunately I didn’t experience health problems from smoking, so there was no change after switching to vaping. I have had bronchitis twice since vaping though, and had never had it before when smoking. I also have frequent problems with throat and bronchial irritation, dryness and soreness from vaping.

generallly felt better

Haven’t really noticed any changes maybe easier to breathe

I had no health issues from smoking, but since starting to vape, I have had no colds, flu, or hayfever.

Right at the start i did have some bleeding gums sore throut and coughing up all kinds of bad stuff, but i had similar problems in other quit efforts

i have a slight intolerance to PG, but if i smke a 70/30 VG/PG i am ok

Heavy vaping can be dehydrating & can upset gums or throat, even get on your chest a little but those things are more common with cheap mystery e-liquids. By contrast, good quality e-liquids from trusted vendors where we can trace the ingredients are far friendlier. The symptoms are minor compared with those from smoking.
You should learn about what is in e-liquid & how to select different ratios of pg & vg.

My taste, and smell have also improved………

I don’t cough in the morning, also stopped producing any kind of black mucus. I breathe easier and can do exercice for longer without running out of breath.

BECAUSE ITS TRUE

Only a problem with dry mouth hurting me.

vape is extremely profitable

I have some health problems already, but they were not smoking-related. I haven’t noticed any health improvements, but I am happy that I am avoiding the risk of smoking-related health probles now!

Cardiac and family doctors both say I’m better.

dont get a cold as often as I used to

No wheezing, no extreme wheezing when lying down, lung test I tested way better than my age! No more blood pressure meds since down to zero nic.

My allergies improved, the slight smoker’s cough I had is gone, and my overall health has improved noticeably. I simple feel better.

Cholesterol dropped from 430 to 280 (w/o medication), stamina greatly increased, lost all indications of perio (previously treated for 10 years), total loss of angina events

I have more energy, my heart rate doesn’t go nuts when I climb a flight of stairs. It’s great.

I can run up stairs again. I don’t get winded dragging my trashcans down my 500-foot long driveway, and I’m back into mountain biking.

My cigarette habit affected my health in such a way that I had to sell my old mountain bike.

3 doctors are thrilled and have me down as a former smoker.

Singing voice is much better of after only a month off pf the cigarettes, the vape doesn’t seem to do any harm as long as I’m not dehydrating, but thats just all the more reason to stay hydrated.

MY LUNG’S SOUND CLEAR AND MY PULSE AND BLOOD PRESSURE ARE BELOW NORMAL NOW. I WORK OUT AND I HAVE A PULSE OF 60 NOW INSTEAD OF 88 AND MY BP IS 102-64 WHICH IS EXCELLANT.

Breathing is better. Sleep pattern is better. I feel all round much healthier since quitting smoking.

I feel 100% more healthy since I quit smoking

I feel much fitter in every aspect. Only side effect I’ve noticed is a dry mouth in the mornings.

I have not had any adverse effects since I started vaping.

I dont use my inhaler nearly as much just when my allergy kicks in

Breathe easier, less coughing, don’t stink, less headaches

I didn’t smoke long enough to have any medically diagnosed issues, but I have noticed a significant drop in pain from deep breathing, and soooooooo much less coughing.

I fell beter in every point since I am vaping

No more smokers cough, more stamina, it smells nothing after cold smoke, the taste buds have recovered.

.

my breathing is better, my food taste better and i am sleeping better

I wasn’t a smoker, but I do experience psychological benefits. It helps me relax and de-stress

I’ve never had blood tests etc but I feel amazing. Far better than when I was smoking.

All around better health. Doc commented that my lungs haven’t sounded THAT good in a long while

For years I’ve had problems with my tonsils, every 3-4 months they got infected. Since I quit smoking I hadn’t had any problems with them whatsoever.

only one cough/cold in over 2 years

When ever I walk by someone vapeing it triggers an asthma attack.

Used to fail lung function tests as a smoker – had to do lung function tests at work in the factory I worked in they were done 3 monthly – failed every one of them, when I had been vaping 11 months I had a lung function test at my local hospital – I passed – and the nurse advised that my lung capacity at that time was only 2% less than a non smoker – I would be interested in having another one in a years time to see what level my lungs are then

Yes and no are odd options here. Also have better skin and appetite.

I breath better and the morning coughing jags are gone.

You forgot the one that says: No more bad breath.
Also in 2014 I saved 60.300 NOK by not buying cigarettes.

I can Smell better, my taste improved.

no coughing in the morning, less coughing in general, when ill. Less susceptible to common cold and such, sense of smell and taste are better, curtains and living environment in general smells better (usually fruity) 🙂 etc…

Barley using my asthma inhalers what a difference

I have noticed no differences, positive or negative, since I started vaping

Haven’t really noticed any difference

No pneumonia this last year, usually had it 2-3 times a year while smoking.

Better breathing, better smelling ability, better overall feeling.

I get occasional tickling in the back of my throat when I don’t drink enough liquids whilst vaping. Nothing compared to my laboured breathing and morning coughs when smoking though!

breathing, strength increased

When I smoked I had heavy smokers cough,
sometimes so strong that I could hardly breathe.

The smoker’s cough is completely gone.

Since I vapors can I smell better.
A week after I smelled immediately if a smoker was near the bus, or passing me left.

I started on 27 March with 11mg nicotine, now I have reduced to 3 mg nicotine.

complexion improved and not had one cold or flu bug since vaping…due to the PG i assume…being an fda approved air sanitiser

I do have problems with flavours, so I use them only in very low concentrations <1%.

My stamina is much better, I breath much easier, walking uphill and in stairs isn’t as much of a hassle as it used to be, and my fingers, nails and teeth aren’t as yellow as they used to be.

My lungs feels healthier.

i can feel it for my health was vaping the right Thing.

better health

Never felt better. Vapeing saved my life.

My astma has disapearred and I can breath normally.
My overall condition is better, taste and smell is better.

It’s true…

BP down significantly.
Breathing better.
Sleep better.
Stopped snoring.
More energy.
Not cranky and resentful like other methods of trying to quit smoking.

better breathing, no slimy throat / smoker’s cough @morning, better tasting,..

There you have it. Health concerns public health experts, the FDA & CDC don’t want to hear. They in fact are ignoring them. Beneficial Bias? Yes. Truth? Absolutely.

Why are they ignoring the best way to reducing smoking or eliminating it all together?

Tobacco Control & others including the American Lung Association have their own view. They don’t like smoking, but they don’t like e-cigs. One would think any anti-tobacco agency would embrace these as a way to get people off of tobacco, but there are other motives. It seems “control” is slipping away from them one quitter at a time.

Reasons Tobacco Control, Public Health, Government & Politicians don’t like e-cigs.

E-Cigs & Vaping. Fighting For Livelihood, Fighting For Lives. Here’s a phone number.

  30

Some are fighting for their livelihood; some are fighting for lives.

David Goerlitz would like a phone call or an email and is offering HELP.

Here’s his email and phone number.

He stated the phone line is open:

609-234-0220.

He’s also available at his email:

kgkjkl@yahoo.com…..

He’s not joking and neither am I…

Don’t know who Mr. Goerlitz is? I didn’t either till around December. I’ll get back to that.

W.H.O. , Governments. Politicians. Health Care. Health Organizations like the American Lung / Heart Associations. Anti-Tobacco. Tobacco. Pharmaceutical Companies. Doctors. Nurses. Pharmacies.

Big Corporations carrying those products that are to keep you well like drug stores and supermarkets. They’re doing the best they can fighting as well.

They have to keep money coming in, or they’ll lose a foothold. At what cost? I believe its at the very least the cost of lives. Those products had research/development. Lots of cash.

Those companies and conglomerates have investors. Investors want profit. It’s been said in this blog – Greg Conley of the AVA said vaping/ecigs are a disruptive technology.

I said in a previous blog somewhere It is again, disrupting alright. It’s disrupting cash flow from all of the above.

Those are people we vapers call antz. Those people are fighting for their livelihood. Grants. MSA funding. Tax dollars. Poorly portrayed reports in media. Misconstruing data. Pretending. Santa Claus. But its working. They’ve taken over. They’ve convinced the masses their way in ANY WAY & form that they can. We KNOW what they’re doing… what are WE doing???

For you who DO make noise, awesome. Someone heard you, I know I’ve heard quite a few. I’m SURE you know who are. We’ve probably crossed paths on Facebook or Twitter by now. You know where I stand…

For you who haven’t made any noise …. either stay quiet, become loud, or don’t WHINE and shrug your shoulders when regulation becomes control, taxation and possible bans………………..Yes I said bans. If you’re a reviewer, say something on your video about advocacy to your viewers. Maybe they don’t know. Put a clip of it up. Draw 30 seconds of attention to it. If you’re a vendor, you’ve got NO excuse not to be screaming….maybe not monetary, but you should be telling your customers and screaming at the government. By screaming I mean letters, phone calls, emails… I’ve SEEN a little of that on facebook & twitter….   MORE!

With few exceptions, those supporting and involved directly with M.O.V.E, or those about to join ranks with M.O.V.E. are the source of truth. Dr. Konstantinos Farsalinos and his team (my apologies for not naming names with him at the moment) are standing up to the world, standing UP to an extremely large agenda with class and purpose (they) have continuously shown for those who can’t.” There are others here & abroad. You know who you are, and I thank you.

For the record, I smoked for 30 + years. I’ve vaped almost 2 years. I lost my father to lung cancer last fall. I lost my Grandmother to lung cancer as well. We have been a family of smokers till death do they part. Duh. I miss them dearly, and had they known vaping, they’d be screaming louder than I am.

I DON’T care if you smoke, dual use, just started out… or have been vaping exclusively for years. If you’re vaping and you’re on line… you’ve got future generations needing a choice in this matter.

Are you comfortable?

Are you happy? Are you satisfied? Are you able to do it yourself? Do you care?

Are you complacent?

Full Definition of COMPLACENT

1:  marked by self-satisfaction especially when accompanied by unawareness of actual dangers or deficiencies :  marked by complacency :  self-satisfied <a complacent smile>
2:  complaisant 1
3:  unconcerned        com·pla·cent·ly adverb

 SO.

Vapers / consumers have been dependent on CASAA and the VAPING MILITIA  to fight for us. I asked someone recently if they were too passive. Too complacent. Too laid back.  I think they are.

Is it funding? is it complacency? Is is me? This is a HUGE fight. Cloud blowing and trinkets are awesome…..I’m all for it,  but there’s a much bigger battle. I’m not saying they’re not doing anything, I’m saying more needs to be done.

WE ARE CERTAINLY NOT LOUD ENOUGH.

 29

We’re playing footsies. Tickle tickle.

This is a fight not easily fought or won for the deeming regulation to occur in the USA…. I don’t know about funding, money, lobbying, cash flow, donations, calls to action, none of that bullshit either, it’s not my expertise and I’ve never run an org…….. I thankfully have a job. I enjoy social media for fun, I love the funny cat video or hand check like the next guy…. we’re all human……but I did notice THIS:

A photo at the FDA facebook page got 7,000+ comments with a #vapingsavedmylife hashtag. I joined in… on the survey page on facebook and twitter…..

THEN I started tweeting/hitting facebook with DEEMING REGULATION.

It is about loose tobacco – pipes… it’s not just vaping……….it’s about control……………..

The tweets by me the other night were modestly retweeted about the deeming regulation and shared on facebook by a few more…   now, updated daily, the FDA site where DEEMING REGULATION will invariably happen… regulation=control=tax=bans and very stringent guidelines……………………….. As of today:

32

As of today on the comments of the DEEMING REGULATION at the FDA site updated Friday:

31

 That just pisses me off.

Dimitris retweeted me. A few others did too…. big accounts…to get some real action on the FDA site…..not even a “like”from some…..imagine that. BIG players in the field of vaping.

What the HELL is wrong with you people????

There are 13,000+ on CASAA’s facebook page. There are over 8,000 on the Vaping Militia facebook page.

No, not all would see a tweet or post on that page, not all that are on facebook are members in the USA, so lets say 10 percent – that’s 2100 comments……………………………… but you can BUMP a video of a cat???

Can you pin a tweet? Can you understand you’re being played? Do you not know what this is about?

It’s about health. It’s about choice.

Finally it’s about control, and continued control of cash.

Your cash. Your children’s cash & health.

It’s about us fighting for their lives.

If you dismiss everything I’ve said about the USA above, keep going…

It’s been banned in other countries. BANNED in other countries.

That pisses me off.

I don’t know that I do everything “right”.

It’s easy to armchair the orgs from where I am. We have to keep doing SOMETHING.

now it’s up to merchants & individuals to be LOUD AS HELL as WELL….

SFATA & AVA are on that side, if you didn’t know and you’re a vendor, shame on you.

David Goerlitz. You might recognize him, you might not. I don’t know Mr. Goerlitz myself, but was within an email only conversation with him today, and remember emailing him some time ago on FB about something. That said, I’m going to just post some of his comments – and remember – his phone line is open and if it’s busy, I’m sure he’s got voicemail. I will give his number again, and again…. at the bottom along with his blog.

and understands what we’re up against. Read his blog. I don’t know if anyone will get this far in it, but if you don’t care, as you were. If you do care, do something, if I hurt your feelings, aww. If I pissed you off, GOOD. If I motivated you as an individual or a company… vendors I’m talking to YOU…..reviewers too…. and you’re going to be active at your B&M, good. Be aware…. it’s coming. David’s BEEN saying so. To the CASAA & Vaping Militia, if you know the knowledge he has, above and beyond what we do, and it is there to use, I won’t ask why you haven’t called David yet, I now will only ask “when will you”, and what else can I do? I’ll always be gladly willing to learn & take suggestions.

Keep On #Vaping On. Kevin

Merchant Of Doubt. Creator of Doom. Professor of Tobacco Control, Stanton Glantz.

glantzzzzzzzzzzzz With so many controversies over e-cigarettes & vaping, now approaching is the pending possibility of regulating e-cigarettes and other forms of tobacco by the F.D.A, along with the their accepting comments from the public for it’s “deeming legislation”, and there are suddenly many “experts”. Enter Stanton Glantz..

Glantz has a background in tobacco control. You said in 1990 addiction helps people like you pay mortgages…. and in 1992, you stated “if the answer is yes, then we do it, and if the answer is I don’t know, then we don’t bother. That’s the criteria……. for research… wow…. Go ahead, click on it. tobacco2

Some experts are popping up like dandelions in your fresh spring lawn in the arenas of public health, TV doctors, reporters, politicians, even people with no degrees at all… and people in tobacco control against e-cigarettes. Stan has been around awhile. Glantz has a background in tobacco control. It would seem obvious that any professor in tobacco control would see the benefits in using an e-cigarette as a viable way to reduce harm that, if the person chose to get off tobacco for good, a professor would be in favor of just that. That way, an alleged leader in tobacco “control” would have in essence, controlled said use of tobacco. Well, that’s not really the way it is at least out in sunny California.

Stanton Glantz, with his title of PhD and “Professor of Medicine” “Professor of Tobacco Control” (Is that a real title?) is more about “control”. A Professor of doubt, a creator of doom. Seemingly, Glantz is “all powerful and all knowing”, kind of like the wizard of odd. As a “Merchant of Doom” in a smoke filled tobacco world, he’s an expert at pretending there is no research with e-cigarettes, that there’s no results. You’d think with a PhD. , and millions of dollars in funding at his fingertips at the University of California, San Francisco, he’d have defeated tobacco by now, wouldn’t you? You’d think with all that funding from trusting people, there would be nothing but fact and truth coming out of someone’s mouth holding such a prestigious position. You’d think. Stan just posted a blog. Stan likes control. Remember how his attitude was before: “if the answer is yes, then we do it, and if the answer is I don’t know, then we don’t bother. That’s the criteria……. for research… so how different has that become years later???

No bias here………….

grant

I will give my rebuttle in italics and bold on his blog post below on the statements from Stan’s recent blog post he “considers” with his opinion. Remember, he’s a researcher, but science, fact & opinion seem to confuse him in an uncanny way. He seem to glide seamlessly and effortlessly with his words, craftily designed like he might actually be an English teacher, but I think not. His title & a link to it if you desire to read it on it’s own. Love the “(almost)” in his title… he needs to brush it up, like I will his post.

A sensible plan for effective FDA regulation of e-cigarette marketing (almost) now http://tobacco.ucsf.edu/sensible-plan-effective-fda-regulation-e-cigarette-marketing-almost-now Submitted by sglantz on Tue, 2015-03-17 12:58 Eric Lindblom, who headed the Office of Policy in the FDA Center for Tobacco Products and is now on detail at the Georgetown University School of Law, just published “Effectively Regulating E-Cigarettes and Their Advertising— and the First Amendment” in Food and Drug Law Journal. This paper is the an amazingly creative and incisive analysis of how to get out-of-control e-cigarette marketing under control as soon as the FDA achieves authority to regulate e-cigarettes.

You make an astonishing and asinine assumption of the “e-cigarette marketing being “out of control” and I find it a creative and incisive analysis… good for you Stan…. you have tried to come up with one of your own recently? You must watch a LOT of television and see a load of print ads… The part where you say “as soon as the FDA achieves authority to regulate e-cigarettes”…. that may happen, I’m not sure, but you seem to know they will. That’s pretty arrogant. Let’s continue, shall we?

Lindbloom notes that there are two possible justifications for allowing e-cigarettes on the market:

I, along with millions, only need one justification, getting myself off cigarettes. It worked flawlessly.

1. The might help current smokers quit cigarettes. 2. The might be an effective harm reduction strategy for current smokers.

“might, according to Lindbloom, is a questionable statement. He obviously listens to you. They DO help current smokers quit. “might be effective harm reduction”…. isn’t that what ANY tobacco control professor wants? People OFF tobacco?

He notes that there are several ways in which e-cigarettes could result in increased harm:

((“could” and “increased harm”)). Really? No science to back yourself up, Stan? No studies to point to or link? Ironically, being a researcher, you have no research on your part…. man that was SO disappointing you didn’t even try. Well… you’re wrong about ‘increased harm”, Stan- there are PLENTY of studies by real researchers, doctors, scientists even, stating there is significantly LESS harm, considering it’s not combustible tobacco, but you’re the expert? Researchers (what you claim to be?) Scientists & Doctors have done plenty of research and you simply insult them – your colleagues in the field – by saying there isn’t any: E-Cigarette Research (http://www.ecigalternative.com/ecigarette-studies-research.htm))) You also tried to create a false sense of harm in your #curbit campaign. Denying the above research and keeping people on cigarettes. Is that your goal, Stan? Continued funding and job security???

Your proud moment in the #curbit campaign on Twitter, claiming toxic vapor, that e-cigs are cigarettes, and frankly misleading anyone into thinking they would be educated is ironic: S4

1. Kids who would not otherwise have smoked addicts start using e-cigarettes. 2. Former smokers take up e-cigarettes. 3. Former smokers relapse to smoking cigarettes again.

Face it Stan…. I’m calling you out on the “kids” thing. Children is a ploy Stan. It’s a catch all “doom” statement because you have nothing else. If all your work on tobacco control all these years was working like you profess it, then there would be no children SMOKING.  See Gate? No Way! here: Gate? No Way! (Thank you Mr. Zillitron). Former smokers “taking up” e-cigarettes (Adults with choices) would keep them from and OFF combustible tobacco. (Your life’s work and goal?) Former smokers relapse on other forms of smoking cessation-quite a BIT more. Either way, they’re off tobacco… still not getting it are you, and again, you’re a researcher?

While the first two points about the potential benefits of e-cigarettes are controversial,

Not to people wanting a choice to be off of combustible tobacco in a design that works effectively, it’s not “controversial”… just to you, Stan. the last three are not. Indeed, the major challenge to e-cigarette enthusiasts is how to craft a policy/regulatory environment in which the possible benefits of e-cigarettes can occur without the collateral damage of promoting increased nicotine addiction in never or former smokers.

Your assumption with the word “possible” astounds me. Are you for it or against it? “Collateral damage”? Nicotine is something else you need to research, Stan. I thought you were a RESEARCHER! Here, buddy, here’s just one link to nicotine, I don’t want to burden you with too much information at once but would like to point out that this link is from a TOBACCO HARM REDUCTION SITE in case your assistants can’t be with you to help you see it: Nicotine FAQ’s http://tobaccoharmreduction.org/faq/nicotine.htm Please note that some people not only reduce their nicotine by choice, some go as far as to use NO nicotine! I know – it’s such a surprise! Their thought is that nicotine itself is dangerous in this form comes from people like you. I can’t imagine you need to know this, yet I need to be sure we’re clear on this: The carcinogens and chemicals in tobacco from combustion of said chemicals are what is dangerous in cigarette smoking, not the nicotine.

Lindbloom presents a sensible and practical solution: Limit e-cigarette advertising and promotion to highly targeted direct-to-consumer contact materials that only go to confirmed current smokers.

Ummmm what??? Are you nuts? You want to support a “sensible and practical” solution? Are you turning the tide on your stance, Gl  ANTZ?

This is something that companies can do given their databases of current smokers.

Well, Stan, are you contributing your cash to do this? Try another #curbit campaign, that did wonders. This is something you could have done in promoting e-cigarettes rather than pretending there’s no research.

This highly focused advertising would get e-cigarette advertisements out of mass media (including the internet) and greatly reduce exposure to nonsmokers.

Are you a moonlight advertising executive and you’ve been holding out on me?

Lindbloom carefully assesses the First Amendment issues and shows how the FDA could do this discretionary enforcement authority without any new rulemaking.

I can only picture you rubbing your hands together with glee over discretionary enforcement. Control has just gone to your head now, hasn’t it…

This approach would not only allow action much faster – years faster – than using rule making, but it would also be easier to defend in court.

I think, with this statement the way it is, its just more hand rubbing…

If it turns out that e-cigarettes do not help smokers quit, keep people smoking (which I think is their actual effect)

Oh look folks, more opinion!!! I THINK it is their actual effect. ((Ugh! I think you’re an idiot!)) They DO help people quit:

or that they turn out to be a lot more dangerous than the optimists think

TURN OUT to be???? You really want people to take you seriously??? See research again Stan: E-Cigarette Research (http://www.ecigalternative.com/ecigarette-studies-research.htm)

(i.e. if assumptions 1 and/or 2 turn out to be wrong) , the FDA can adjust its rules. But the damage will only be done to current smokers and the significant collateral damage listed in items 3, 4, and 5 will have been avoided.

Are you telling the FDA they can “adjust its rules”??? You have some control issues, Stan. Have you seen a psychologist for that? Damage… well, again, refer to that research… I keep having to tell you it’s there. This is getting old. E-Cigarette Research (http://www.ecigalternative.com/ecigarette-studies-research.htm)))

Everyone at the FDA needs to study this paper with an open mind and see that the deeming rule which is now being finalized does not inadvertently make it harder to implement this plan.

“An Open Mind.” Simon Chapman hasn’t blocked me, I actually like some of his information. Engage properly with people in the twitter arena instead of insisting on your way or the highway, Stan. You might learn something. See if you can have an open mind sometime. You don’t do any research so you might as well ponder the wonders of learning.

S

And, while the technical details of Lindbloom’s plan are written for the US, the ideas can be easily implemented in other countries. Indeed, they may be easier to implement in countries that do not deify commercial speech the way the US Supreme Court does.

“the ideas can be easily implemented in other countries”? They may be easier??? Now you want to control the world??? You REALLY need to see a professional. Consult your Psych. Department over there at the University Of California.

Probably even more important, public health advocates need to read this paper and start pressing the FDA, their keepers in the Obama Administration, and pro-health members of Congress to make sure that this plan gets implemented.

“Probably” even more important. Is it important? You sound tired here. You must hydrate once in a while between naps. It should read something like “I implore” or “must”. Those words are strong, show you mean business and would’ve been better to get people to “start pressing the FDA” to get this implemented. What exactly IS more important? Again, get off your high horse. You are a researcher. You would think the most important goal in a TOBACCO CONTROL researcher would be to get people OFF TOBACCO. Off of cigarettes. With all the research showing it’s MUCH less harmful than cigarettes I’d think you could see that by now.

While I admit your resume’ is impressive. Your integrity is quite questionable. Your ability to try to be cute and not have any idea that research isn’t being done is stunning, but it’s getting old, but you keep at it. Pompous, self-centered and beyond your time, there are people who are helping the world. Real Researchers. Real Doctors. Real Scientists. You insult your community and dismiss, sidestep and misconstrue the very idea that e-cigarettes are safe.

Well, glANTZ, they are safe. E-cigarettes are not only safe in comparison to smoking cigarettes that they’re saving lives. They’re much safer than you trying to keep people from it. Your goal in tobacco harm reduction is to get people off of tobacco. I would presume you would be the first to know that. Do some real research, make a phone call, stop making false claims. You are endangering people and giving them the illusion that an e-cigarette is worse in your #curbit campaign. That deters people and keeps them smoking when they believe the lies you’ve spread. That is irresponsible, that is costing lives. You know, you might make a better politician than researcher. Do some research, check that out…

I’m no one important. I did do a Vaping Truth Survey – Here’s the final analysis, that by default, discredits you with no grants, staff or offices in the very things you elude to…….

Turns out I and THOUSANDS of vapers have done more research than you via E-Cigarette Research (http://www.ecigalternative.com/ecigarette-studies-research.htm)

Dear Stanton Glantz: If millions of e-cigarette users are wrong around the world by benefiting with e-cigarettes, and ONE researcher is right…… isn’t that something you should take up with your math department being statistically unsound? A concerned and much healthier e-cigarette user. As always, Keep On #Vaping On.

Kevin

NZ, thank you again.

FDA accepting PUBLIC & Private Industry comments on E-cigarettes & tobacco. Are you shrugging shoulders?

deemingIf you believe your e-cigarette has saved your life or someone you love, or if you are a smoker/tobacco user in those descriptions, you need to pay attention to those red underlined words just above in the graphic…. I saw 60 something comments on Friday, as of the time of this post, there are only 75 on the FDA site.

Are you all shrugging your shoulders? Procrastinating? Get this DONE. Will it matter? I don’t know. I do know this,  it’s been done in other realms (like gun control) in the United States.

I know you’ve got ’till April 15th, so if you’re reading this, you’ve got till today! 🙂

I quote:

“Proposed newly “deemed” products would include electronic cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco, certain dissolvables that are not “smokeless tobacco,” gels, and waterpipe tobacco.”

If they regulate they can restrict, tax, control and could eventually ban.

By tax, I mean like TOBACCO tax.

A LOT is at stake. E-cigarettes, cigars…. it’s not just vapers……… you roll your own and use pipe tobacco?

Yep………… you too.

YES you can comment personally.  Yes you SHOULD comment personally. YES you should make sure your local shop has done it. YES vendors should tell every person walking in their store to blow clouds or buy tobacco. Do I sound a bit pissy? Well I AM!

Dismiss this all you like, but read the picture above again where I’ve underlined in red, then read the link below, click on the link  below and then ask yourself if you’re not pissed yet.

If you don’t think bans can happen, think again: http://www.ecigarette-politics.com/electronic-cigarettes-global-legal-status.html

If you’re still here, awesome.

So, when I went to it, I was a bit confused… US Government doesn’t make it easy, eh? Well we’ve got till April 15th to submit our public comments here:

http://www.fda.gov/TobaccoProducts/GuidanceComplianceRegulatoryInformation/ucm198169.htm

Then you click:

commentaa

Then you click:

comment2

Then you comment and can add files:

comment3

Then you choose your “category” as “individual consumer” or if you’re an association, private industry etc.

at the bottom once you’ve finished your comments:

comment4

OR

You can go straight to the comment box here : http://www.regulations.gov/#!submitComment;D=FDA-2014-N-1936-0001

and at the bottom choose your “category” as “individual consumer” or if you’re an association, private industry etc. . . . .   Submit & that’s it!

I don’t care about blog hits, I care about awareness-use my words, copy & paste this post, use as your own, plagiarize…. I don’t care , make your comment and then SPREAD this info ANY WAY you can…

as always,

Keep ON #Vaping On.

E-Cigs & Vaping Dangers, Health Issues Determined

risks

There is no science in this survey. This is what one person would tell another, or to their health provider. In this instance, they told it to the Vaping Truth Survey.

Symptoms, health issues, resolutions. Very powerful. No one died.

Question number 7 was posed to over 7,238 people. ALL had a chance to answer. These are 100 voices who chose to speak about their health benefits, the top include fifty who had negative experiences with vaping, the bottom were positive.

You may be as surprised as I am to see what they describe in both.

I said at the beginning of the survey, you have a voice…. now they ALL have a voice.

Health benefits you’ve noticed since vaping?

7

The following chose to answer “I have had health issues I believe are from vaping (Please comment)”

I feel like my teeth are more sensitive.
Wednesday, Jan 21st 12:31AM

I do not have the “smokers” cough anymore, I sleep better and do not wake up coughing, my taste buds and sense of smell are so much better. I haven’t had bronchitis since I stopped smoking and I was getting it every year at least once. So many things have improved. I have not had to go to the doctor since I started vaping but have an appointment next month for a check up to renew prescriptions or see if I can give them up too.
Tuesday, Jan 20th 10:14PM

being new, or simply making a mistake on what juice to buy – using a higher MG nicotine content, you have a chance of “over doing” your nicotine theropy, and get a slight overdose. this has happened to me multiple times, and can cause you to black out randomly – causing physical damage to your body whatever you fall on(bump your head or anything of the like).

also, vaping dehydrates the body at a faster pace then usual. i HAVE blackedout due to dehydration multiple time since switching to ecigarettes – its not the ecigs fault, its mine for not staying hydrated, but i can see this as a possible issue also for some people
Tuesday, Jan 20th 1:23PM

I’ve noticed occasional upper chest pain after vaping, but I can’t be positive that they’re related.
Monday, Jan 19th 12:37PM

problems with sleeping
Monday, Jan 19th 10:47AM

Glycol allergy. I need to use 100% VG liquids only with low flavours amount.
Sunday, Jan 18th 9:17AM

I had become incontinent due to smoking and within a few days my cough had disappeared. My anxiety levels also dramatically dropped.
I no longer stink like an ashtray and can now go for walks which I was unable to before.
Saturday, Jan 17th 6:24AM

My psoriasis might be getting worse due to dehydration from excessive vaping. Also dry eye and mouth
Sunday, Jan 11th 6:58AM

Tinnitus caused by vaping
Friday, Jan 9th 5:37AM

I have been searching sites looking for symptoms that may happen when starting vaping but I believe it would be simple fixes with some information 🙂 I will not go back to smoking !!
Wednesday, Jan 7th 11:26PM

I have a very weak body constitution plus being asthmatic, my health has gotten worse since smoking but the switchover to vaping has made me cope with my life better as a weak person; I can breath with clarity, i can taste things better, I don’t get sick often and I don’t smell awful.
Wednesday, Jan 7th 1:22PM

the only drawback are breakouts of acne, and they are symptoms closely related to vaping VG and PG
Wednesday, Jan 7th 6:00AM

less chronic cough during winter
Tuesday, Jan 6th 6:10AM

My weight has increased donce I quit smoking and started using an e-cigarette…which was an annoying but acceptable downside.
Sunday, Jan 4th 4:38AM

Stomach problems doctor said vaping causes it. Acid.
Sunday, Jan 4th 1:19AM

Fortunately I didn’t experience health problems from smoking, so there was no change after switching to vaping. I have had bronchitis twice since vaping though, and had never had it before when smoking. I also have frequent problems with throat and bronchial irritation, dryness and soreness from vaping.
Friday, Jan 2nd 11:10PM

generallly felt better
Friday, Jan 2nd 10:15PM

Right at the start i did have some bleeding gums sore throut and coughing up all kinds of bad stuff, but i had similar problems in other quit efforts
Friday, Jan 2nd 7:31PM

i have a slight intolerance to PG, but if i smke a 70/30 VG/PG i am ok
Friday, Jan 2nd 6:32PM

Heavy vaping can be dehydrating & can upset gums or throat, even get on your chest a little but those things are more common with cheap mystery e-liquids. By contrast, good quality e-liquids from trusted vendors where we can trace the ingredients are far friendlier. The symptoms are minor compared with those from smoking.
You should learn about what is in e-liquid & how to select different ratios of pg & vg.
Friday, Jan 2nd 5:48PM

I feel much fitter in every aspect. Only side effect I’ve noticed is a dry mouth in the mornings.
Tuesday, Dec 30th 6:41PM

Monday, Dec 29th 8:18AM

Before i started with vaping i had lung capicity ad 70% and now its all right
Sunday, Dec 28th 4:38PM

I often had flues with hard coughing in the past. Now I am less ill, and if I get a flu, it’s without cough!
Sunday, Dec 28th 1:53PM

The only health issue i have from vaping is sore/bleeding sinus’s..I believe this is caused from to much pg in the eliquid.I now mix my own eliquid which is helping clear them up..
Sunday, Dec 28th 9:57AM

Friday, Dec 26th 4:46PM

old health issues included an increased heart rate durring mild excersize, regular issues with heartburn.

Both stopped once I was fully vaping and not smoking at all.
Friday, Dec 26th 12:59PM

I found I personally seem to have a certain sensitivity to high PG concentrated juices. Perhaps the dehydration factor that comes with that as I was beginning to get strange muscle cramping after I started vaping regularly. However, I found that the cramping episodes completely disappeared by switching over to MAX VG-based juices. Problem solved!

So there you have it. Not one of these respondents said they died. Imagine that.

Science? No. Would any doctor get the same answer? Yes.
That’s my point. If you’re a health professional and understand vaping is substantially better than smoking,

PLEASE join M.O.V.E.

If you are a health professional, tobacco control or the like and want to continue to dismiss this evidence without proper evidence of your own, without regard to the fact that vaping is not smoking, and continuing to misguide the public….

Vaping Health Benefits. Who’s hiding the truth?

How can what is beneficial about vaping be hiding in plain sight from almost every media report?

They must have an agenda.

What the media and studies from science doesn’t tell you about vaping, we will.

Vapers have a voice.scientist

Below are 100 unedited answers just as they came in  (from around the world, language & spelling are unimportant).

from participants to question number 7 from The Vaping Truth Survey. I copied/pasted just one page:

Health benefits you’ve noticed since vaping?

These are just one hundred voices as they answered them.

If you believe these are anecdotal, please refer  Beneficial Bias before proceeding.

Health benefits you’ve noticed since vaping?

• I personally feel much better, More energy and just better in general,

• Skin better. Smell less. Sense of smell and taste improved. Don’t honestly know if am listed as a non smoker on my medical chart

• asthma only bothers me now if I have a cold of flu, otherwise I rarely use my inhaler.

• Beter taste, smell again!

• Because I was on steroids and antibiotics 2 or 3 times a year plus emergency admissions for pulmonary infections which exacerbated asthma and needed oxygen. No longer prescribed seretide and use 2 puffs of atrovent before bed which I am not sure I need really.

• My overall body wellness has significantly improved. Teeth are becoming white again. My face has a healthy pink color.

• Sadly I can’t say I feel better

• My COPD symptoms are greatly reduced – I can now climb stairs, walk for miles and do all sorts of things I haven’t been able to do for years.

• I just physically feel better, have more breath, don’t get winded as easily. When I was a smoker, I would have a cough almost all fall/winter, but now I don’t, and I love it!

• + No more smell, phlegm in the morning, etc

• Year before i went to the vaping, i was in the army. On army i had every morning 30 minutes of coughing and puking because of the cigs. Now my mornings are nothing like that.

• Yes, but they are minor because in other ways I’m still living the lifestyle of a smoker so I don’t exercise as much as I should.

• Hair seems to grow faster, same with nails

• Massive improvement in health – beyond anything l could have ever dreamt of when l was smoking. For me this is the most important thing and the overwhelming reason for trying e-cigs. I have ‘before and after’ medical records which confirm the improvement so it’s not imaginary

• My taste is back, I dont cough in the mornings, no more phloem and my sense of smell as improved slightly.

• Still coughing after 8 months vaping

• Breathing without wheezing, not coughing up phlegm in the morning, less breathless when brisk walking

• No more coughing. Cycle much easier.

I wanted an alternative to anti-depressants and reading the latest data on nicotine in that area made me think it was worth a try.

• I bike commute, i don’t own a car as well as run. I can tell you without a doubt that my breathing and endurance have benefited

• I was having massive spikes of pain in my chest and lungs before I picked up vaping, and they have gone away, with an increase in lung capacity.

• I used to have trouble walking up multiple flights of stairs, or running long distances. I’d also wake up in the morning any my chest felt too tight to take a full breath. Now all of those are symptoms are significantly better; and best of all my lungs feel twice the size.

• I had a nasty smokers cough, that has now gone.

• I do a lot of mountain walking and have a physical job. Since starting vaping my endurance levels are much higher.

• I even started doing 3 mile runs and joined a gym for the first time in ages since I can finally breathe again.

• Sore throat

When the liquid gets into my mouth that’s all i taste. it burns my lips. apparently this is common.its called over vaping?

• I have copd with out vaping I would have started smoking again I was on the verge .

• I can taste food again!

• i had chronic bronchitis. it’s gone.

• My health has vastly improved since I made the switch to vaping. I can breathe better, I no longer have a constant cough, and I don’t wheeze while working or at the gym. Also, my blood pressure has gone back to an even, normal level, and the circulation in my hands and feet has greatly improved.

• Health issues were short term and involved the usual side effects of quitting smoking. Aside from the cravings, the side effects of quitting smoking are one of the barriers I was never able to overcome. Plus, I gained a little weight as my senses of taste and smell returned.

• I know longer have smokers cough which used to affect me badly especially in the mornings. I used to cough to the point or retching every morning when I smoked.

• My chest does not feel tight when I wake up in the mornings

Breath better was the first thing I noticed. With that came more energy. Then I started noticing my sense of smell had improved. Most notably from smelling smokers for the first time and thinking “I used to stink like that?”

• can now expand lungs to the full, which couldn’t do with smoking. don’t smell of smoke: clothes and at home. breath is better, generally feel healthier.

• I can run much further, faster, and longer, since switching to e-cigs

I will put this in my own words. I am feeling better . I can breath better when going up stairs or running. I am sleeping better and I am not getting sick with colds. I dont have headache like I use too.

• My health has suffered through ageing, I truly believe I would be less healthy had I not stopped smoking.

• I was a healthy smoker

• I am not winded anymore..can run up stairs without feeling ill. I missed my sinisitis/bronchitis infection this year (which lead to pneumonia now) I no longer have a constant wheeze in my chest for it is gone. I don’t wake up choking on phlegm.

I feel healthy.

• Stress is more in control along with my anxiety.

• true

Colds don’t last as long or affect my respiratory system as much as when I smoked. I’ve always had blood pressure on the lower side, so I can’t say anything changed there.

I feel like a new person now thanks to vaping, Still get my nicotine but with none of the death.

• I no longer cough and my gums are in better shape.

• Keep in mind, I am dual user, but as I smoke moderately, I do notice better health which I attribute to my strong preference for vaping.

• Things I haven’t been able to enjoy for a number of years, like hiking in the Rocky Mountains are a breeze for me now. I don’t get winded anymore….so obviously the stair in my house are no longer an issue! My home doesn’t sound like a tuberculosis ward in the morning anymore either. No more phlem choking me to the point of vomitting either. I can taste my food now and my nose does its job way better now too!

• Sleep better and happier mood too. Smoker’s cough disappeared after a week. Do stairs without a rest stop half way. More energy to do chores.

• i was on 2 inhalers up to 6 times a day with copd,i now only need 1 inhaler 2 or 3 times a week

• I would not have stayed with vaping if my health did not improve. I stopped wheezing, I have more energy, I stopped snoring (my wife told me this), my overall health is better, less colds and flu.

The only ill effects I’ve noticed from vaping are occasional sore/scratchy throat (diminished greatly since switching to VG-dominant ratio), dehydration and headaches associated with dehydration.

• I feel sharper in my thoughts and i feel that there is more jump in my step.

• I feel cleaner and more energetic.

• Feel so much better, plus my teeth and cloths stay clean.

I feel 1 billion times better than I did when I was smoking cigs. I can take big deep breaths without pain, something I could not do while smoking cigs. I no longer have the chronic cough I used to have. I haven’t had chronic Bronchitis since I started vaping and my yearly sinus issues have diminished greatly and my doctor attributes these changes to my swapping smoking for vaping.

• Play baseball and not dying running the bases able to hike and travel difficult wood paths

• Because I’ve noticed health benefits from vaping. Breathing is easier, blood pressure is down, and my doctor says I’m much better.

• I used to get at least one (or more) respiratory infections, every year. I’ve had one (two years ago) in the last 3 years.

• Walk a dog daily and I’ve noticed the significant improvement in cardiovascular ability.

Don’t get winded walking up steps to 3rd floor apartment like I used to.

• I started exercising regularly at the time I quit smoking, so it is hard to say what benefits came from stopping smoking.

• I even sleep better nowadays because of vaping.

Wheezing in bed has gone completely.

• I didn’t have many health issues to begin with, but I had noticed I’d begun to wheeze some and have some shortness of breath. I no longer have these issues.

• my taste buds are better now

PG caused tonsil stones from topical dehydration. ENT diagnosed and in treatment.

• When I still smoked I often woke up during the night because my throat was full of disgusting slime. I was also sick quite

often, but now I haven’t even had the flu for a long time.

I was listed as a former smoker, I had quite several times and it coincided with my appointment with my PCP. Most of the benefits I have noticed myself.

• I am an asthmatic and have mild COPD from cigarettes. Even though I’m still both of those things and they will probably never go away entirely, I’m not nearly as bad as when I was on cigarettes.

Vaping doesn’t affect them.

• I do breathe better now, though there is still a long way to go. I’m not as stressed out or pissed off anymore, so it’s made me more relaxed that’s for sure. Plus, no fixation on having to smoke on breaks at work, I don’t even had a want to smoke.

• I haven’t been to the doctor for a checkup since I started vaping 3 months ago, but I have noticed that the skin on the fingers that used to hold cigarettes is healing.

• Because it’s true.

I’m less often sick (flu, etc.), I recover more quickly, I didn’t gain weight. Maybe I breathe better but I don’t know.

• Nothing much to elaborate on. I said most of it in my previous answers.

• Every morning upon waking up, I noticed that if I took a deep breath and filled my lungs with air my chest would hurt. After a while I noticed this has gone and filling my lungs has become easier!

• Not necessarily a health benefit, but I and my breath smell much better.

• I can taste and smell a lot better (like a non-smoker). I can do sports far better. I do not have headaches anymore (which I had from smoking). Over all feel better and healthier.

• I don’t cough anymore. My coughing used to keep me awake at night when I smoked. Now, when I feel a cold or other virus coming on, it seems like I can fight it off in a day or two. I blieve the nicotine or pg is killing the viruses.

• I can run, walk long distances, without becoming out of breath. Hold my breath longer, no longer waking up coughing.

• I can’t believe the difference in how I feel it’s wonderful.

• I’ve always had blood pressure in the low/normal range. Even after using 2 packs a day I hadn’t developed COPD. My old doctor has retired and my current one hasn’t known me long enough to comment. Having said that, when I ran into my old doctor he was absolutely ecstatic that I had quit smoking and had no issues with my vaping.

• Pretty much every aspect of my health has improved. I have not seen a doctor since quitting smoking. Just FYI, not boasting.

Better stamina, lung function measurably better, fewer respiratory infections/inflammations, better immunity to colds/flu.

• Have not been clinically checked, would say the lack of tobacco smell is important

• Why do you have these little red asterisks next to each question as if to indicate footnote, additional info or disclaimer yet they provide nothing?

• I didnt have health issues when I started vaping

• Because it’s the answer that applies best.

• I just started vaping, so I’m weening myself off analogs

• I have feel better and breathe better

After 3 years off cigarettes, you should see my lung x-rays. It almost looks like I never even smoked a cigarette in my entire life! Doctor says my lungs should be back to a “non-smokers” status within the next year =)

Both of my doctors approved. My tests are all better and I feel better.

I can taste flavors in food better and smell scents better

• just generally feel better in myself, more able to exert myself without getting breathless.

Fewer lung infections/illness in general reduced.

• this is after only one month

I never smoked, but I don’t feel anything negative while vaping. If anything, I’ve made more friends vaping and am happier because of those friends.

• A smoker spends the first 10-15 minutes of their morning coughing and blowing their nose. That stopped for me after 2 weeks of vaping.

• I am in decent shape but when I was smoking I had hypertension (age 23) now I do not have issues with my Blood Pressure.

• I had a persistent feeling of fluid in my lungs for 9 months. Two weeks after starting vaping it cleared up.

TRUE Medical PROFESSIONALS are already WELL on board with Vaping with an organization called M.O.V.E.: https://sciencecig.wordpress.com/move/

If you are one of those Professionals, and have any doubts, please contact anyone in that organization, they will be glad to help.

If you are media or government official and are responsible, you would contact the same members of that group. You can email me on this blog.

To you who doubt, research is there.

Don’t tell us there aren’t enough studies. Don’t tell us we need more time.

The  The Vaping Truth Survey Final Analysis and other proper links are on this blog.

You can’t keep hiding from facts. For you who do continue to make false claims, you’ve had plenty of time to show us proof.

We of all people would love to see it.

Until then, stop using your emotions to cover your lies. It’s as if you want us to go back to smoking and keep others from benefiting. I wonder why.

Vaping saves lives.

For you in government, your irresponsible bans/taxes/restrictions need to be stopped or rescinded.

For you in health, um, read it again.

For you in media, do some RESEARCH.

Keep it up…I’m coming after you.
