NICOTINE DOES NOT CAUSE CANCER
I put this at the top of this weeks news – because the myth is important. There are many people assuming the opposite. (Think snus.)If you are surprised to learn this, that’s fine. Read it anyway. If you’re aware, awesome, there’s more news below.

New York Magazine forgets that smokers exist
Another author I admire takes a hit piece, explains conflation, excessive misinformation, harm reduction and what the public deserves.

The Vaping Industry’s Impeachment
VITN rules are strictly adhered to with Mr. McGrady: Who doesn’t like a little political banter with their vape?
The Vaping Industry’s Impeachment
Charles Gardner points out the Truth
Apparently, in a less than obvious way to pull the gazillion people underage users of e-cigarettes to the promised land of a phone app, Truth Initiative has found the “cure” for the “epidemic”. Dr. Gardner points out their flaws in their… well – you see it.
Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids distributes vaping products
A vaping product in everyone’s hands….. After years of supporting tobacco companies and smoking, I knew CTFK would finally come around. They are now distributi…. Wait a minu…. did they supply plenty of these to school officials to create an illusion of an epidemic?
Can the journalists and companies they work for not afford to purchase these themselves? Did Matt use funding and donations to purchase these?
One never knows.
Indefensible Inaction by JAHA Editors on Obvious Research Misconduct
Dr. Rodu has integrity. It’s there, you should feel obligated to read it. (Not that I’d ever force your hand.)

Research: Vaping Helps Smokers Quit
Dr Farsalinos said: “Unsurprisingly, and in agreement with other studies, we found a strong association between current daily e-cigarette use and being a former (rather than a current) smoker.

US Candidates on Vaping
Being the least informed on what is a hot topic in the U.S. is one thing, not knowing it is political… as discussed above… is another thing entirely. Hearing it from Dave across the pond makes it better.
Two videos from this week:
Children testifying about vaping in open court
Since my introduction to the inner-sanctum of the vaping world, (which is at times by far seemingly on the outer rings of Saturn), the discussion of having children testify in open court has been a contested and “lets not talk about that” position for many good, and bad reasons. I haven’t changed my mind, I just haven’t been able to articulate how it should, or could, be done.
I think, and hope you’ll agree, this outstanding example where children (not coached, not scripted or wearing a nifty orange shirt) can, and should be a bar the industry and consumers can attain respectfully. This was discussed last evening on Smoke-Free Radio, and the conclusion is that (we) there’s nothing left to lose.
This points to a wonderful example to the (your) child how the legal process works, and can be effective to lawmakers. You have to judge the maturity of your child and their ability to speak their mind. If they meet your criteria, You get your three minutes, they should have theirs.
To speak in public is one of the top fears humans have. In this instance, these brave children did well. This is 5:45 long and well worth your time.
Vaping: what people are getting wrong | The Economist
Yep, the mainstream media is paying attention. Yes, we have a long way to go. NO, it’s NOT over. Yes, you’ve seen similar. Yeah. It’s 12:53 seconds. No, it’s not ‘perfect’. Nothing is.
Accept that, watch it anyway, then tell all your friends to watch it.
