Dr. Farsalinos ~ Cole-Bishop, Dr. Cranfield ~ 60 Minutes Australia ~ Honesty ~ Imagine The Implications ~ Carl V Phillips ~ THE Fergus Mason ~ A Billion Lives ~ Willing To Compromise

Dr. Farsalinos

“WHO is making a big mistake,” says Farsalino, referring to the organization’s quit-or-die approach.

WE are raising funds for Dr. Farsalinos & his team.

$605.00 has been raised so far.  To *donate any amount, please go here:

Dr. Cranfield

Dr. Cranfield, who did this long-term study in 2015…

It’s a doctor’s duty to recommend the best ways to live a healthy lifestyle for his or her patients, but it is also our duty to recognize the realities of certain situations. In the case of patients who smoke, it’s important to note that vapor products can be a safer alternative to smoking cigarettes, as well as a tool for smokers to cut down their tobacco intake or even quit altogether.

Cole-Bishop Bill Supports Small Businesses, Protects Consumer Choice In Vaping Industry

Australia

NO one. Period.

Doug, you’ve got that right.

Honesty

This next piece, from Sen. Steve Linthicum (R-Oregon) took me by surprise.

I’m not used to seeing brutal honesty or integrity, so enjoy it.

“Every time the nanny-state intrudes into the middle of our families, then our individual liberty and personal responsibility is diminished.

The gradual accumulation of small, seemingly insignificant legislated tyrannies will destroy the very foundation upon which our free republic was built.”

Smoking age law simply more nanny state

Imagine the implications

“I got a few free nicotine patches. I was interested in seeing if I could feel the nicotine,’ he told Watchdog.org. “But the next morning in the shower, I felt something strange on my skin and I was like, ‘Oh yeah, I forgot!’ It was imperceptible.”

E-cigarette critics get research dollars from industry competitors

Carl V. Phillips:

So apparently there is a UK organization known as the Royal Society of Public Health which presumably had some importance back when the East India Company was not just a retail brand.

Real implications of the RSPH “sting” of ecig vendor

Speaking Of Honesty

I’ll let THE Fergus Mason speak for himself. For all of us. Something like that.

Just to set the record straight I thought I’d set out why the public health profession is so unpopular with vapers. Settle down in your comfiest chair; this could take a while.

Dear Public Health: This is why we’re angry

How to keep trying to stop smoking.

They call this success.

There are no excuses.

My wife and I drove from Dayton for six hours to Milwaukee to attend the premier of this film.

I watched it again twice this week.

I’m still pissed off.

A Billion Lives is now available.

A Billion Lives Is Available Here.

“Willing to compromise”

I’m not sure why this took so long to surface from 2015, but the truth is finally spoken from a researcher about e-cigarettes in the video, and from Shannon.

This is where arrogance and the fiscal health –  of taxing e-cigarettes – collide.

That video is here in full.

HR1136 ~ Australia ~ Canada ~ Across The Pond ~ Advertising ~ Nicotine Challenge ~ Bill Godshall Update ~ Incoherent Screams

HR1136, The Cole-Bishop

Consumers, this from CASAA:

The FDA Deeming Clarification Act of 2017 (HR 1136) was introduced on Thursday, February 16th. Republican Tom Cole of Oklahoma (4th district) and Democrat Sanford Bishop of Georgia (2nd district) have built on previous legislative attempts from 2015 and 2016. HR 1136 is an updated version of HR 2058 and the Cole/Bishop amendment.

HR 1136 – Modernizing the predicate date for vapor products is a vital first step

People, you must get louder.

The regulations of e-cigarettes (worldwide) have only one thing to stand on.

I’ve covered the tragedy officials claim, however, any regulations have boiled down to one reason. Money.

They disguise their greed to the public with nicotine “addiction” & “The Children™.

(It is one in the same).

  • Parents, please pay attention to your ankle-biters and activities at local quick marts
  • Obviously, despite their own opinion, tobacco control programs are useless.
  • Evidently, the laws already in place by lawmakers can’t be properly enforced.
  • I’m questioning the claim of nicotine “addiction” here
  • The government, public health, and politicians have more at stake than your measly life. They don’t care.

HR 1136 gains early co-sponsors. Take a moment to say THANK YOU!

If you don’t, you’re effectively agreeing with whatever they throw at us, and the future of those consumers who will have less to choose from.

Get louder.

Australia:

Good news for tobacco control, cigarettes are still safe and available in Australia. Government approved. There is insufficient evidence for the safety of e-cigarettes. Sorry, smokers.

Please, keep smoking.

CANADA

The Tobacco Harm Reduction Association of Canada (T.H.R.A) had its say representing consumers in Canada this week at the Senate Committee on Social Affairs with bill S-5.

Incoherent Screams & Observations

yelling

Some days

When I’m writing on my blog, I wonder, does anyone read it. Does anyone understand the consumer’s point of view?

I’ve said “we look harder for information, good or bad,” than those who pretend they present it to the public effectively and accurately.

Those self-centered “officials” who still pass information off as if it were “for the greater public good” (without regard to the actual public) and posing as experts –  are pissing me off.

You too? Good, let’s move along.

What Was Released

With the FDA regulations well underway, some idiots decided to “mine” tweets to observe “influencers” to determine and analyze “information shared on Twitter for insights into initial public reactions” to the regulations.

Denial, manipulation and keeping up appearances to protect cigarette sales is the goal. Because they’ll do a better job.

Public health advocates should consider using social media outlets to better communicate the policy’s intentions, reach and potential impact for public good to create a more balanced conversation.

There’s no balance. There are barely conversations.

There’s also no secret to professionals trolling on Twitter about e-cigarettes –  as it has been done in the past here and where we “may be an impediment to tobacco control research and practice” here.

Now it is being passed off as “research” and tends a reader to believe this is “may, could, might” be normal behavior of tobacco control or public health if there is such a thing.

I’ll get to that.

Another wonderful example of the scream test has found its home in the US National Library of Medicine National Institute of Health:

Public reactions to e-cigarette regulations on Twitter: a text mining analysis.

Screams Of Fear

What exactly are these people afraid of? They want their bias quota met. They want those who are against it suppressed. They want the public to know just what they want them to know, not information we are finding and providing, not what is factual or coherent. Just what they want the public to understand.

Much to my surprise, and with so much stiff competition, I proudly happened to be on the list of examples in the impugning world of influence balance and truth on twitter.

a

That insight to their scream test, control and predicted eventual demise is the actual report not shown in the first link here:

You know, the bigger picture. Click.

Public reactions to e-cigarette regulations on Twitter: a text mining analysis.

Maybe someday they’ll do some actual research about e-cigarettes instead of wasting everyone’s time and money.

Added 4/5/07:

From Tina in the comments:

Last I knew, this study was still going on:

Is Twitter Censoring Us?

The tweet from Big Vaping’s DrMA is from the 21st of March, the release date of the “analysis” above was the 24th.

I wonder how powerful “they” are. This “may, might, could” be coincidental.

Update 4/14/17:

An Update on Safety

Public Health Out Of Control

Is this normal behavior? Are the emporers not wearing any cloths?

Speaking of incoherent babbling – Public health all along has coerced, suppressed and controlled public opinion to create a “balance”, as long as it’s weighted to their decisions.

We are, after all, the “enemy of the people”.

I’m not sure who said this, I asked and did not get an answer.

I assume it was Martin McBubbleGum.

Enough Is Enough

Along the same subject line as above, with the attitude and behavior towards smokers, smoking or any other power “health” has over the “enemy of the people” follows below:

A sad statement for smokers from ACSH today showing what lengths “orgs” will go to demean rather than assist. It’s not about “you”.

This, is normal behavior?

Street Fight

We’re impugning. We’re getting on their nerves. They are hedging their bets with your health. They think they can keep getting away with it.

They are hedging their bets with the consumer’s health and choice.

While we’re trying to get every single drop of information, good or bad, from reliable sources about e-cigarettes, public health wants to play games. They want to control them.

Their livelihood and egos are obviously more important than our, and consumers who may instead keep smoking’s  – very lives.

They are in it for themselves first. This is about lives, choice and telling the truth.

Keep doing that.

This is a street fight.

Get LOUDER.

As David Goerlitz has said — and will again soon…the gloves are off.

Raising FUNDS for E-Cigarette Research

01

Dr. Farsalinos is well aware of this fundraiser. I’ll make this as brief as I can.

Think back to when you first looked for research on e-cigarettes. You were (and still are) finding glorified journalism and public health websites choosing to tell a fabricated story.

(I’ve covered that here)

At times, you’d find fiction.

In the world of e-cigarette research, one name stands out from the crowd. Dr. Farsalinos.

Dr. Farsalinos is a Cardiologist.

I We are raising money HERE  for Dr. Farsalinos and his team of researchers.

(Nicotine Addiction: An Open 30-Day Public Health Challenge)

Why did I choose his team?

Because I trust him and his team to tell me the truth about what they discover, regardless of what they find. They do this to relay proper and unbias information to the consumer, good or bad. Period.

He is providing us with information.

“Unbiased, reliable – full access” information.

We can’t expect him and his team to do his research for free.

I access and refer to his work constantly. SO do you.

He speaks around the 48-minute mark here:

Global Forum On Nicotine

So, to clarify, this GoFundMe fundraiser is about

  • Raising funds for Dr. Farsalinos and his team at ecigarette-research.org
  • Requesting Public Health, Anti-Tobacco, Tobacco Control and other professionals to provide documentation and prove “addiction to nicotine” with the criteria provided.
  • Proving or disproving the “addiction to nicotine” claim without tobacco or MAOI’s.

Why did I choose nicotine addiction as the subject?

Because powerful people in powerful positions have asserted themselves for decades by saying nicotine is addictive, and it raises awareness.

I painstakingly went through the criteria and sought advice from many I trust before submitting this challenge (and will blog about it about it once it’s over).

What happens to your donation?

If nicotine addiction is proven with the criteria:

Only 5% of the funds collected (minus fees) go to my most detested organization

👉  The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids.

The rest of the funds collected 95%  (minus fees)

If it unproven, unchallenged (expected), ignored or does not meet the criteria,

100% of the funds (minus fees) 👉

Here is why I say nicotine is not addictive:

Along with things like this, this and this  – there’s this:

If the data contradict the theory, throw out the data

Here is what Joe Gitchell said when I asked what he thought about the challenge:

If you want to have lives depending on “expert” opinions and hypothesis with the “we’re in control” offices of Glantz, Chapman, McKee, Malone and Capewell, be my guest.

We need further unbias, objective research without conflict of interest.

Donate, spread this around. Change the world.

I encourage you to tag and post it everywhere you know experts will see it. Make them think. Put them to the test. Ask them questions.

Give them the chance to answer the challenge on my blog.

The goal for this campaign is set at $25,000.00.

Sharing is caring. Go here and thank you in advance.

The Emporer has blogged.

Glantz, who isn’t one of the elite royalty mentioned in this report, decided “As one of the 120 “leaders” who responded to the poll used to construct this document”, he strongly objects to the use of the subtitle, and spelled “necessarily” incorrectly as “necessarity” wrong – which leads one to believe he may, might, could  – or it is possible, he’s an idiot.

If you’re unfamiliar with Professor Glantz, he’s covered here from Paul: Rotund Reaver.

I’ve blogged about the mechanical genius here and here.

Tobacco Control Experts

Tobacco control experts have so much blood time on their hands – they have to waste time with a conspiracy session.

Drink the tea, Alice – find yourself a nice mushroom stool.

Control has wasted over 50 years sitting on the floor with crayons – pretending to “fight”.

More of this, please

In their zeal to punish the evil tobacco industry, many have thrown the baby out with the bathwater by ignoring scientific evidence, mislabeling e-cigarettes as dangerous tobacco products and stifling, and restricting access to, a technology that helps tens of thousands of people — perhaps more — safely and effectively quit smoking every year.

E-cigarette myths should go up in smoke

Speaking of Dr. Farsalinos

“He pointed to the example of a conference organised by the tobacco industry in Brussels last year, where scientists were sent letters criticising their participation by a US anti-smoking group – even though they had no links to the tobacco industry.”

Researcher claims ‘academic McCarthyism’ over e-cigarettes

One letter sent was here:

The criticisms Dr. Farsalinios speaks of in the quote with 7 others is here.

The URL was definitely not the title of the article:

http://www.heraldscotland. com/news /15166477.Scientist_defends_links_between_Big_Tobacco_and_vaping_industry/?ref=rss

Now, this has story has two parts, and Phil called it.

Dr. Farsalinos was misinterpreted in the article:

My job is to defend science and evidence, not any industries. In that respect, and after waiting for 24h for the journalist to revise, I am obliged to denounce an article published in the Sunday Herald Scotland in which I am MISINTERPRETED as defending links between the tobacco and vaping industries and characterizing attacks on research into vaping funded by Big Tobacco were a form of “academic McCarthyism”.

Dr. Farsalinos’ full response is here:

Surgeon General Lies ~ Neil Boortz ~ Bill Godshall Update ~ Think Of The Children™ ~ There is no gateway ~ Brian Fojtik ~ Chaos ~ Cole-Bishop HR1136 ~ Nicotine Addiction

Dr. Michael Siegel:

Lies and misinformation are the core of regulations. We’re not loud enough.

Neil Boortz

The “Talkmaster” Neal Boortz (was once a fan) has no luck with seeing a puppy blown up, so, he instead, wants to watch e-cigarettes blow up. At least that’s what I got out of this idiotic tweet.

It is all how you word things, “talkmaster”.

Think Of The Children™”

My thoughts? Time and time again, special interest groups around the world use and exploit children.

It is free child labor after all.

Example:

Youth thought of all this.png

There is no gateway

If “children” are *already smoking, they’re *smokers regardless of age.

Two things focused on in the battle to regulate, restrict, tax and ban are “nicotine” addiction and still unsubstantiated gateways to children.

New peer-reviewed research published in Drugs Education Prevention and Policy shows that e-cigarettes are not increasing the likelihood of tobacco consumption and may in fact be contributing to negative perceptions about smoking among young people.

Young people do not associate e-cigarettes with increased likelihood of smoking

Via Brian Fojtik

It’s not always about vaping, nicotine or children. In this instance, it is about failing to adhere to their own rules.

Laws are being manufactured to satisfy everything but public health concerns. More on gateways and assertions by a belief system controlled by special interest groups and politicians within.

Government, health organizations and special interest groups are counting on you to not pay attention. That’s the plan.

Don’t forget to set your clocks forward tomorrow. We get an hour less this week to fight the bastards.

Today the vapor industry joined together in support of Cole-Bishop.

The Blog Fog Has Lifted

In what may be the longest “rapid response” ever, there are now responses:

Other responses

All were insightful, this one caught my eye from Clive Bates.

TWO from Dr. Konstantinos Farsalinos:

First:

Prevalence and correlates of current daily use of electronic cigarettes in the European Union: analysis of the 2014 Eurobarometer survey

Second:

Irresponsible marketing by parts of the e-cigarette industry requires immediate measures

Because Price-Reducing Strategies Are There:

I love the “conclusion”. They don’t like alternatives. They don’t like Snus. They don’t like e-cigarettes. They don’t like roll-your-own…..but they certainly like a “Federal Minimum Pack Price “idea”… we need a pay raise.

keepsmokingweneedthemoney2.png

“Conclusion: A federal minimum price policy has the potential to greatly benefit tobacco control and public health by uniformly increasing the price of cigarettes and by eliminating many price-reducing strategies currently available to both sellers and consumers.”

Remember, e-cigarettes are now “deemed” tobacco in the United States:

Simple Simon

I absolutely love Dick Puddlecoat. You should as well. Simon, not so much. If he’d only use the mass between his ears…

The ‘Rigour’ Of Simple Simon

 2nd hand

Because who doesn’t like the idea of anything second-hand?

“EC use releases negligible levels of nicotine into ambient air with no identified health risks to bystanders”

What does e-cigarette vapor contain? Is it harmless to bystanders?

A Survey (on Twitter) for my friends in Australia:

Cole-Bishop: #HR1136

Cole-Bishop, one of the more important things in the industry.

“The e-cigarette industry is on the edge of a cliff, with Food and Drug Administration rules threatening to wipe out 10,000 small businesses and remove 99 percent of vapor products from the market in just 18 months’ time.”

A modest reform could mean life or death for the vaping industry

Robert Innes.

I adore Mr. Innes:

A very high percentage of the population kept on smoking which concerned the ones who wanted them to stop, so the ones who wanted smokers to stop invented Nicotine Replacement Therapies (NRT) which gave the smokers nicotine which was not addictive, and did not provide any fun – that was good.

Prohibition or Harm Reduction

I almost couldn’t believe my eyes…

Not often do I do a double-take, but this one was refreshing to see.

gif eyes.gif

“we believe that patients have the right to practical, empirical, and accessible information and facts. We are hoping that e-cigarettes will be treated by the New York DOH with the same amount of empirical scrutiny and moral impartiality as these other means of harm reduction.”

Concerned healthcare providers respond to New York Department of Health Commissioner’s remarks on e-cigarettes

Tobacco Associates hold 70th annual meeting in Wilson

Here’s an interesting insight to the tobacco market and its own view on the upcoming years, and they don’t seem too concerned.

“Brown said the jury is still out on the e-cigarette industry’s impact on the U.S. combustibles market”

Strong profits predicted for tobacco growers

Youth:

I’ve often thought we should just ban children. Ankle-biting rugrats seem to have made some sense in this!

Avoiding or reducing the harm of tobacco cigarettes is the top reason youth vape, according to data from a survey by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and analyzed by PinneyAssociates.

Suicide or Vaping? – You Decide

We, and millions like us who don’t know better, are too important.

Advocacy

I first met Jennifer Berger-Coleman online when I saw her post this:

lung-jennifer

I asked her permission to use that graphic and did so here. (Thank you again, Jennifer!)

I was delighted to see this:

CASAA is pleased to announce some welcome additions to our leadership team.

Jennifer Berger-Coleman was elected to CASAA’s Board of Directors. While new to the Board, Jennifer is certainly not new to advocacy. In addition to working on tobacco harm reduction advocacy in California, Jennifer has a long history of advocacy involving civil rights and health care issues. Her skills as an outreach coordinator will be employed to help CASAA reach populations and communities where smoking rates remain disproportionately high.

Congratulations, Jennifer!

New additions to CASAA’s Leadership Team!

Please Stand By

It seems the fog still hangs over the Tobacco Control BMJ and its authors of “Blog Fog” after more than ten days.

blog fog.JPG

In their feeble attempt to assert themselves of promoting open and rapid debate to the little people (in the name of advancing science, of course), technical difficulties, password issues and a comedy of errors have one author now “mortified due to different but linked systems. Uh huh.

Christopher Snowden gives some reassurance for her mortification.

Tweet Of The Week

The tweet of the week goes to Agent Ania in reference to the above “Blog Fog”.

Proactive

Here’s an awesome and dignified example of the vaping community reacting proactively.

ava.jpg

This comes from Alycia Singleton via Gregory Conley of the American Vaping Association.

“The son of a vape shop owner (edit: actually a manager) was apparently told to write an assignment listing five reasons why vaping should be banned.

Instead, he submitted 240 pages of scientific information and stories from adults who found them helpful in quitting.

He got a F and his mom was told to take it up with the school board.”

AVA is going to give this young man a $1,000 college scholarship.

Regulatory Pie

The FDA is holding a $1,000,000 pie eating contest.

Study on the Health Effects of Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems and Priority Research

To fund more research. What?

surprise.jpg

Wait a minute, regulations preceded the ~knowledge~ of health effects? Huh.

For reference, 20 Million dollars of pie was consumed in 2013 to “help regulate tobacco products” that surely included the deeming regulations.

Influence

Speaking of idiots, Simon Chapman thinks, and that should be regulated.

(Bold is my emphasis)

“We expect those who know most about health problems to have views about what should be done to solve them and the courage to put these forward, even if they imply criticism of governments or powerful interest groups.”

“Trump’s recent gagging of all government environmental agency staff is surely the start of a process that will spread to government funded universities in the USA.”

Simon Chapman thinks researchers have a “duty” to try and influence policy.

In other news …..

Senator Durbin is still babbling incessantly, insisting “we need strong regulations of e-cigarettes.”

Evidently he didn’t get the memo on National Tobacco Day.

He was last seen sticking his paws in the 👉 candy desk at the senate.

Divine Intervention: A Deal With The Devil

devil

Place your trust in public health officials. They are the clergy, you are the congregation.

Only they know the way to help you stop smoking. Do it their way and no one gets hurt. This is nothing less than helping smokers quit. It’s what they do.

They have resources and unlimited educations with tenure (and offerings in the plate) to find the best information to help you.

They know what is good for them you. They would never, ever steer you wrong. There’s no doubt in their minds they want the best for you for their cause. Nothing but the best is good enough for you, sinner.

Only they, with their infinite wisdom, provide divine intervention.

How dare you think for yourself. Get your hymnal, heathen, stop whispering during the service. There is no room for non-believers. Please be thoughtful and have your soul ready for processing.

If you fail, it is your fault, sinner. Try again, get down on your knees. Beg for mercy. You didn’t mean it. Lead yourself not into the forbidden smoking area den of inequity.

Get back up off your knees. Try again. Beg their forgiveness. They have apps. Methods. Do it their way. Sinner. Have faith. Raise your ashtrays high above your heads. You must take the solemn vows of tobacco control.

Stop impugning their holy efforts and do not question them when they withhold information.

Their ethics are pure.

Going To The Chapel

They look like good people and organizations.

tobacco control money.JPG

They’re nicely dressed. Big words. Fancy initials before and after their names. Nice clean collars, well fed, well bred and full of sermons.

That’s your Sunday best? That’s what you wore to church the cult meeting?

Ugh, Here’s your hymnal. Find a pew, pay attention and be quiet. Stop chewing your gum.

Authority and righteousness is not to be challenged.

Drink the blood kool-aid

communion

You can keep sinning, they get your sin tax. Try to stop smoking. Go ahead I dare you, they get repeat customers quitting their way.

You just can’t resist temptation, can you? They see you clutching your lighter, you evil sinner. Try as you may to repent, you don’t have it in you. Didn’t you slap the blood patch on your arm as a badge of honor or taste the snake oil gum as it was offered to you?

You must truly believe. You must have faith. Without it, These tools are ineffective and have no real value (to you). Without family and support with counseling and a quit plan (along with an all hail tobacco control) these methods will fail you at an average of 93%.

Don’t lose hope, they’re going to save you, sinner, with their Divine intervention.

If you continue smoking despite the advice from the deacons of tobacco control, it’s a good deal for the devil.

Stop disappointing them. There are other methods that will bring you  – yes, redemption, like

Nausea, Depression, Suicidal thoughts and more…Too bad for you, but – they are, after all, collecting souls.

Feel better yet?

No Sleeping During The Sermon

They are set and ready, designed to enlighten you. Stay alert during the service. What do you know, you’re a sinner. Practice what they preach. They want your undivided attention and commitment to them and their word. Listen carefully!

Here’s one preaching to the choir from the Sistine Chapel pulpit:

00

Baptism bapt.jpg

They, after all, are the experts. You haven’t brushed up on the tobacco control bible, have you? They keep praying and preaching about nicotine, but nicotine is not addictive.

To further their agenda (and the greater good), they have lied about nicotine for years.

nicotine-wow

Wash away those sins. Aren’t you looking for redemption?

Remember

Not all nicotine is the same, you immoral heathen.

The holy water of tobacco control has blessed the magical pharmaceutical nicotine, and then there is nicotine after 2007.

Chapter And Verse

Shaving horns

This is a startling insight to the teachings of the fringe of the gospel according to Tobacco Control:

Via Michael Siegel (bold & underlining is my emphasis):

Importantly, only one perspective on this issue was presented to us in the trainings. There was no room for disagreement or challenge. These ideas were presented as scientific facts, not subject to debate. In fact, if we were to challenge the ideas, the implication was that we – ourselves – might be accused of working for Big Tobacco or receiving secret payoffs.

The most prominent and dogmatic idea presented to us was that “The debate is over.” There is no room for questioning of the link between secondhand smoke and chronic disease. Anyone who challenges that link or suggests that it is being exaggerated must therefore be a front for the tobacco industry. No reasonable person – acting of their own accord – would challenge this undebatable science.

That is explained here:

Yet, research is ignored. Falsified. Construed.

There is a U.S. Federal Policy on Research Misconduct.

Research misconduct is defined as fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism in proposing, performing, or reviewing research, or in reporting research results.

  • Fabrication is making up data or results and recording or reporting them.
  • Falsification is manipulating research materials, equipment, or processes, or changing or omitting data or results such that the research is not accurately represented in the research record.3
  • Plagiarism is the appropriation of another person’s ideas, processes, results, or words without giving appropriate credit.
  • Research misconduct does not include honest error or differences of opinion.

Why Are U.S. Health Officials Ignoring U.K. Colleagues about E-Cigs?

Findings of Research Misconduct

A finding of research misconduct requires that:

  • There be a significant departure from accepted practices of the relevant research community; and
  • The misconduct be committed intentionally, or knowingly, or recklessly; and
  • The allegation be proven by a preponderance of evidence.

U.S. Federal Policy on Research Misconduct

The R.I.C.O. Act

Federal research misconduct for fiscal gain is a crime.

There’s intentional misconduct committed throughout the health community, and that makes it an “acceptable” practice.

See what they did there?

Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act

Deliver us from evil.

When will they be held accountable?

devil2

Never.

They are men and women of the tobacco control cloth holding secret dances and parties you’re never going to be privy to. Governments turn a blind eye. There is no room for disagreement or challenge to those who otherwise would be brave enough to try, as Dr. Seigel pointed out above.

The Pope, Deacons, Preachers and choirboys and girls of the tobacco control church have worked hard to bring you a quality service.

They have bought and sold your soul – over and again – for billions in job security with handshakes, nods of approval and back room deals to save their eternal organizational souls.

See ya next Sunday, wear something nice.

Helping Smokers Quit

money6.jpg

Imagine a business you can operate at full capacity by providing a valuable product and “service” to millions of customers with no restraint on inventory, no liability and carry a “non” or “not for profit” status.

Imagine a business with no worries about profit or loss – and the money keeps coming in. As a bonus, you can carry this on for more than 50 years and brag about it.

Imagine a business that is funded by those you are trying supposed to help. Imagine if your business could get away with shaming your customers for failing with your product or service.

You could offer ineffective tips keeping your status as a caring and upstanding business in the community. Wouldn’t that be fun?

aca-dont-give-up

Supply & Demand

Imagine how failure on the customers part  creates opportunity for more business. Promoting almost useless products you don’t pay for is not only fun, but keeps you, and the supplier in business. They’ll keep coming back. You know the failure rate is 93%, and knowing why is not your concern.

Use the term “cessation” a lot because it sounds soothing. In contrast, I suggest focusing on something with at least three syllables so it is ominous and scary sounding – like nicotine – because it sounds evil.

Remember, you have no accountability or responsibility for success in the eye of the public. You just have to look like you’re trying.

  • Be realistic. Don’t talk about of tobacco control out of church.
  • As much as possible, try to influence policy as much as you can.
  • In fact, success would be detrimental to your survival, always elude to an exit strategy.

Keep Success To A Minimum

Imagine your success. Stay focused. Your success is paramount, not your customers. Customer success is of no concern. In fact, it’s widely acceptable to shame customers and convince them that their failure is not your responsiblity. Play on their desperation, not satisfaction. Ultimately, hold your customers accountable. Confuse and bewilder them. That’s the plan.

Feign support, but encourage. Make it perfectly clear that the customer is the problem, not your business. Convince them to keep trying.

cdc-keep-trying

Passive-Aggressive Is Best

Imagine your staying power. Make it clear that they are the problem, not your business. Place the failure on the consumer, and promote your business as if it has helped millions, helping you. Failure is not only acceptable, it is expected. Join other businesses like you to keep momentum.

Don’t Give Up

Imagine if smokers could succeed. Ignore and damn any methods that work, despite the evidence, as it would be detrimental to your survival. In fact, only support any other method if they are taxed, regulated and funded in such a way that will only contribute to your success.

Leave your ineffective products and services alone. At any cost including lies, use children (because who doesn’t like to Think About The Children™).

Convince the public via mass marketing that it is ultimately safer to keep smoking than to risk using any product not approved by you, or your affiliates.

Always seem concerned or challenged by any less harmful alternative.

Reminder

Remember, you must restrain yourself. Never, under any circumstances, talk about any effective alternatives that may risk your reputation or your business. Ever.

Imagine a business that would go bankrupt if it did what it was designed to do.

Help people stop smoking.
